As an Animator and having been brought up and inspired by Loony Toons, Tom & Jerry, and Felix the Cat, I thought I would give my opinion on this. So recently I saw a poster in a Wal-Mart for the new loony toons. seeing the new design i was like "Really..." So tonight i watched a episode tonight and the show reminded me of a Simpsons episode. whats with bugs and daffy living together. the show reminds me of Rocko's Modern Life just without that cartoon flair. The whole point of Rocko was the day in the life of a cartoon character. Zanyness and all. but this is more like a episode of the Simpsons with Loony Toons characters. Wheres the loony? Only thing i really enjoyed is Daffy is still a douche and I love how Lola is a completely crazy, desperate, wreck that clings to everything. Its ok.. but that's all. Only time I ever truly feel like I'm watching Loony Toons is when they have the roadrunner shorts or when Mac n' Tosh are on the screen (I love those guys). It's not that i don't like the show, cause I kinda do, its just not what i wanted out of a Loony Toons TV show. I mean if the new school Tom & Jerry Could have all the slapstick craziness and keep to the original violence and all, why couldn't this? It amazes me how Warner Brothers makes AMAZING superhero shows that stick to the comics so strictly, yet when it comes to there own licenses that they created, they keep missing the point. Well... At least its not Loonatics Unleashed.
